Marketing Internship, Westview Care Center, Indianola, Iowa
Westview Care Center of Indianola is looking for a summer intern to work in the marketing department. This unpaid internship will require the student to work closely with the care center’s marketing coordinator, in addition to other staff as needed, such as the administrator, home care coordinator and activity director. 
Duties will include assisting the marketing coordinator with public relations and development of communication tools. This may include writing articles for the monthly newsletter, designing flyers, assembling welcome bags for new residents, creating e-mail communications and distribution lists, and event planning, such as assisting in booth design and set-up for fairs. The position may also include job shadowing the marketing coordinator for in-person visits to other care centers, doctors’ offices and other referral sources to distribute brochures and market the care center’s services.
We are looking for a student in communications or marketing with some graphic design experience, a willingness to learn about marketing in the long-term care and health care industry, and someone with high ethical standards with the ability to uphold the privacy rights of patients/clients.
