DESCRIPTION
The Principal Financial Group is currently seeking a Corporate Relations Intern to join the team in our Des Moines, IA corporate headquarters. This is an outstanding opportunity for students majoring in Public Relations, Journalism or Communications to join a Fortune 500 company! This full-time internship will begin in May and end in August with the possibility for part-time employment through the fall and spring semesters. As an intern in our Corporate Relations area, responsibilities include writing articles and information for our intranet; writing, editing and proofing publications; writing news releases, and organizing special events.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or a related field. 
• Students must be entering their junior or senior year to be considered for this opportunity, and preference is given to applicants with at least a 3.0 GPA. 
• Previous experience in a public relations environment/internship and involvement with related student organizations is preferred. 
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, creativity, coordination skills, and ability to work well in a team.
• Strong consideration will be given to students who are able to extend their experience, on a part-time basis, in the fall and spring semesters.
